Host counties are asked to choose the venue, date and time for their festival and notify the secretaries of the other counties in their group as soon as possible but not later than May 1st. It is the duty of secretaries to notify winning schools in their own counties of these arrangements.
Inevitably some schools experience difficulty in attending the festivals because of a clash with other events e.g. Confirmation. It is the obligation of the county to sort this out (it is not the host county’s responsibility). Sometimes it is settled by sending the school that finished second.

Teams & Selection
It is essential that the teams are mixed. That two children from each school are on each team.
School teams may not be played.
The host county appoints an independent selection committee (normally three) who selects the most skilful players and as far as possible ensures that each school gets representation.
The selectors shall choose the three most skilful players first and they shall participate on All Ireland finals day.
Then the next six most skilful shall be chosen and they shall participate on All Ireland semi-finals day.
It is desirable that a programme is produced on the players on each team on the day. The teacher will provide his/her school jerseys and ensure that the team is correctly numbered one to ten as on the programme.
The teacher with each school team will take charge of a mixed team on the day. This teacher will provide his/her school jerseys and ensure that the team is correctly numbered one to ten as on the programme.
The host county should have a spare set of numbered jerseys available.
To complete the games within a reasonable time there should be two pitches available for both boys and girls. Some counties have overcome this problem by using two different locations that are close by but having the meals for all teams at the one venue.
€80.00 per team will be available to provide meals for the ten children and two teachers per team. This will only be paid to regions providing a sit-down meal for all participants.
Please ensure that you have sufficient referees and first aid.
Please contact Jim O'Reilly, National Coordinator, if you are experiencing any difficulty with the event or if you want any assistance. Phone 021-4873131 / Mobile: 087-2808071
