MINI SEVENS

Invitation to participate in 2005 2006 series

The INTO/GAA MiniSevens Series will once again this year provide the opportunity for children to display their skills in Gaelic Games in a noncompetitive atmosphere of fun and enjoyment.

Within each county schools will participate in roundrobin sevenaside blitzes and the most successful team in each group will advance to the next round. Each county will choose one school in camogie, hurling and boys’ and girls’ football to advance to the second stage and Dublin will choose six schools in each discipline. From these one hundred and forty eight schools, two hundred and forty children (120 boys and 120 girls) will be chosen to participate at half time in the AllIreland semifinals and finals.

The series provides equal opportunity for boys and girls at all levels.

TIME SCHEDULE

  1. (i)  Closing date for entry shall be set by your County Cumann na mBunscol, and notified to each school.
  2. (ii) Level one, ie within the county shall be completed by Saturday, April 29, 2006.

(iii) Level two, ie Regional Festivals, shall be completed on or before Saturday, 20 May 2006.
