The Roadstone Awards Banquet will take place in the Berkeley Court Hotel, Dublin on Saturday, 10th. December, 2005. Awards will be presented to the winners and runners-up of the following categories.
4. Assessors’ Merit Award
This will be awarded to a school, county or province that, in the opinion of the assessors, has achieved a high standard of
entry, without winning a category.
5 County Website / Publication of the Year
Submissions in this category should include any relevant County or Provincial publication. Creativity, imagination and appeal to a wide range of ages should be the criteria. Copy of the publication should be submitted be it print or electronic but only with a clear outline of a strategic plan and targets achieved. Evidence of publication to the satisfaction of the assessors must be submitted.
6. Annual Fixtures/Information Booklet of the Year
A copy of the current county fixtures and information booklet should be submitted. Electronically produced fixtures are also
acceptable and will have equal status and CD ROMs and Floppy Disks should be included.
Entries should describe the organisation’s public relations strategy and philosophy. Details of successful use of varied media
in reaching the target audience should be outlined and submitted.
The winning schools in this category should have achieved a high standard in the promotion of Gaelic Games – football,
hurling, camogie, handball, rounders – among as many children as possible within the school. Entries should outline and
illustrate the strategies and initiatives used to promote games, to include children of all ability levels, to provide effective
coaching of any other appropriate approaches. Detailed school information should be part of the entry.
9. Pat Trainor Memorial Award 2005
Nominations are now being sought from Cumann na mBunscol members for this award.The idea of this award is to reward and
recognise individuals who have contributed to the development or improvement of Cumann na mBunscol activities at local or
national level over a sustained period of time. Submissions for this category will be made on a standardised form.
Provincial units of Cumann na mBunscol are free to enter any category that is relevant to them.
The Judges’ decision is final. In the event of standards not being reached in any particular category, the Judges reserve the right not to make an award. Canvassing will disqualify.
