I.N.T.O. / G.A.A.  MINI  - SEVENS GIRLS  FOOTBALL  2005.

The   Mini – Sevens  Girls  Football  Blitz took  place  on Tuesday evening October 5^th.  at  the  Abbeyside  and  Lismore  venues .  There  were  three Groups  in  Abbeyside  and  one  in  Lismore . 

On  pitch  one  in  Abbeyside  we  had  Ballymacarbry,  Grange ,  Kinsalebeg and  Coolnasmear  /  Kilbrien.  On  pitch  number  two  the  group  involving Abbeyside,  Ardmore , Modeligo  and  Grange  played .   On  pitch  number  three we  had  St.  Mary’s ,  Scoil  Gharbhain ,  Stradbally ,  Clashmore , and  An  Rinn .

Simultaneously  in  Lismore  Tallow ,  Lismore   and  Cappoquin  played  to  decide who  would  qualify  for  the  semi – finals.

Following  a  great  afternoons  football, Ballymacarbry, Modeligo, Clashmore, and  Lismore qualified for the semi -  finals  which  were  due  to  take  place  at  the Abbeyside /  Ballinacourty  G.A.A.  grounds  on  Tuesday  12^th. October  at  3 . 30 p.m.

Thanks  is  due  to Breda  Cleary  and  especially  Tomas  Walsh  who  were  co – ordinators  for  the  Abbeyside  Blitz  and  Sean  Prendergast  and  Billy  Sheehan who  co – ordinated  matters  at  the  Lismore  venue. 

The Western Champions will go on to play a team from the East in the County  Final . 

The  Primary  School   Girls  really  enjoyed  the  games  and  even  when  they  had  no  hope  of  winning  their  section  they  still  wanted  to  play  their  full  quota  of matches .  Thanks  is  due  to  the  teachers  and  coaches  who  stayed  till  the  end and  not  forgetting  the  parents  who  supported  their  daughters  so  well .

SCHOOL’S  GIRLS  AND  BOYS  FOOTBALL  CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Every  school  should  have  three  rounds  played  at  this  stage.

Western  Boys  Football  Finals,  Fraher  Field,  Saturday  November 6^th.

Western Girls  Football  Finals  Fraher  Field  ,  Saturday  November  13^th.

Neutral  referees  will  be  provided  for  Western  Finals .

A  player  taking  a  free -  kick  resets  the  ball  without  permission  after  the  whistle  is  blown .  Should  the  referee  award ( a )  a  free – kick  to  the  opposing  team  ( b )  throw  the  ball  in  .
