Cumann na mBunscol – An Mhí

2004 is the 25^th anniversary of Cumann na mBunscol An Mhí.

To mark this occasion a “Sport for All Day” was held on the 16^th of June at various venues throughout county Meath. Each school selected ten pupils to participate in a sport of its choice. – rounders ,camogie, football or hurling..

Games were of a non competitive nature with children from different schools forming part of  the same team. Boys and girls were mixed in rounders only.

It must  be said that each school entered into the true spirit of the “Sport for All Day” and  each participating school was presented with a commemorative plaque, on the day.

All the schools that participate in  Cumann na mBunscol  An Mhi competitions will be represented in a special parade in Páirc Tailteann,Navan on the occasion of the  Meath senior football championship final on the 3^rd of October.

An art and poetry competition involving all the schools is in progress at present and the winners  will be presented with prizes at the  Cumann na mBunscol  An Mhí football finals at Páirc Tailteann in November.

The events will conclude with  a presentation and celebratory function in the Newgrange Hotel, Navan on  Friday the 12^th November.
