Grants:

  1. Coiste Náisiúnta grant of €635 received on 19/12/2002 – go raibh maith agaibh.

 2. €33,560 grant from Comhairle Laighean C.L.G

    distributed to counties on 13&24 /01 / 2002.

   (Cumann na mBunscol is very grateful for the support

   received from Comhairlre Laighean during the year.) 

 

Promotions:

1.   St. Patrick’s College Drumcondra 

Sponsor of kit bags for  hurling team. Students acted as referees, mentors during Games Programme in May /June / July. Attended Forum on Gaelic Games in college in December.

2.    Roadstone Awards:

Leinster counties did very well on the night with nominations & awards. Carlow, Wicklow, Wexford &Dublin. Congratulations to all involved.

   3.   Mc Donalds Catch & Kick

All Leinster counties involved in this new promotion with two from each county represented in Croke Park.

Publicity:

Coverage of our Games Programme was extensive. I am very grateful to Jerry Grogan for   his support. We featured in “Highball , Scoilsport,  Lár Páirce, The Star, Leinster Match Programmes, Westmeath Examiner and many other Provincial Newspapers.

 

Coverage was also available on Website of Cumann na mBunscol Náisiúnta. Cumann na mBunscol Laighean now have a link on www.scoilsport.org Thanks to Margaret Cunningham for her assistance.

Lár Páirce (C.L.G. Magazine) featured all our activities during the year. Thanks to Tom Fitzpatrick for publicity.

Newsletter:

In an effort to keep in contact with all 12 counties a newsletter is issued every two months. This is sent to each county and also available on website. Information on activities, meetings, games etc is available. News from counties is welcome. Issue 3 will be posted on Sept. 15th .

We welcome our three new members to the coiste. This will help in spreading the workload. We now have Cumann na mBunscol Laighean promotions in 7 counties and it is hoped that we can bring this up to 9 next year.

Laithróid Láimhe day, for beginners, to be held in Cill Chainnigh in November.  Two counties (Kilkenny &Dublin) to pilot the project under the watchful eye of Paul  Kinsella.
