Castlewellan GAC Gaelic Skills Week.

All the P4 -P7 children in Castlewellan and surroundings areas were treated to a superb week of involvement in the skills of gaelic football, hurling and camogie organised by Castlewellan GAC during the Easter holidays. This highly structured programme devised by Paddy Hardy, ably assisted by his brother Liam, Mickey McVeigh and a team of trained coaches, from both within the club and others provided by the Down County Board, ensured that all the children present had a most enjoyable and exciting time throughout the week long course . Every effort was made by these experienced coaches to develop the skills of gaelic games in these enthusiastic children . The appearance of St. Malachy's High School captain Paul Devlin with the All Ireland U18 cup and Timmy Hanna with the Ulster U21 trophy on the final day added much to the overall excitement of the week. The parents of those young people involved owe a great debt to the Castlewellan club and to all these volunteers who gave so freely of their time to make this a truly memorable week for these children.
